BJD Announces Key District Leadership Appointments
In a move aimed at bolstering its organisational structure, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President Naveen Patnaik has appointed new district presidents and working presidents across several key regions in Odisha.
The appointments, effective immediately, supersede all prior orders and reflect the party’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its grassroots network.
The order, dated February 3, 2026, and issued from the party’s headquarters at Sankha Bhawan in Bhubaneswar, names the following leaders to their respective positions:
- Byomkesh Ray as President for the Bhadrak organisational district.
- Purna Chandra Swain as Working President for Ganjam organisational district.
- Bhagaban Gantayat as Working President for the Ganjam organisational district.
- P. Gouri Shankar as Working President for the Rayagada organisational district.
- Raisen Murmu as Working President for the Mayurbhanj-2 organisational district.
