Bhubaneswar Bali Jatra to Feature 1,000 Stalls Across 15 Acres

The Bhubaneswar Bali Jatra will be held from November 24 to December 2 along the Kuakhai riverbank at Barimunda, with organisers planning to expand the fairground to 15 acres and accommodate around 1,000 stalls.

Preparatory work, including ground levelling, has begun. Four parking zones will be arranged to manage traffic from Patia, Hi-Tech, Gandarpur, Barang and Pratapnagari, with additional parking near the venue.

Security arrangements will include around 400 volunteers, police personnel and nearly 100 CCTV cameras. Tarpaulin sheets will be laid across the fairground to reduce dust pollution. An additional access road from Mancheswar and a temporary bridge across the Kuakhai River are also planned.

Cultural programmes will take place every evening throughout the nine-day fair. Organisers are also preparing facilities for drinking water, electricity, fire safety, sanitation and emergency services. A coordination meeting chaired by the Khordha district collector is expected to review arrangements with the concerned departments.
