Bhubaneswar Airport Sets New Passenger Record in 2025, Ranks 13th Nationally

Bhubaneswar: Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar has created history in 2025 by recording the highest passenger traffic since it began operations.
According to Airport Director Prasanna Pradhan, a total of 5.15 million passengers travelled through the airport during the year, marking the highest annual passenger movement ever registered at the facility. He said such a volume of passenger traffic had never been witnessed at the Bhubaneswar airport in a single year before.

Bhubaneswar Rises in National Ranking
With the sharp increase in passenger footfall, Bhubaneswar Airport has climbed to the 13th position nationwide in terms of total passenger movement. This reflects a significant improvement in its standing compared to previous years and highlights the growing demand for air travel from Odisha.
Delhi Remains the Busiest Airport
At the national level, Delhi airport continues to top the list, handling approximately 70 million passengers, maintaining its position as India’s busiest airport.
Connectivity to 28 Destinations
Currently, Bhubaneswar Airport operates flights to 28 domestic and international destinations. The expanding flight network has significantly improved air connectivity and made travel more convenient for passengers from across the state.
Officials attribute the growth to increased flight connectivity, rising tourism, and steady economic activity in the region.
