BCCI medical team advises Jasprit Bumrah not to play fifth Test of IND vs ENG

Jasprit Bumrah will not play during the fifth Test against England at The Oval because of back issues, with Akash Deep being named as his replacement. The BCCI medical staff has deemed Bumrah’s overall well-being more important and rest him even though the match is vital.
Bumrah’s load has been handled during the series, and he had already mentioned that he would not be playing all five Tests because of fitness issues. His back problems have been a long-standing issue, and the team management does not want the injury to get worsened.
Akash Deep, who has recovered from a groin strain, will join the squad and is likely to play a significant role. He played some impressive cricket at Edgbaston, taking 10 wickets. Arshdeep Singh is also likely to receive his Test cap in place of Anshul Kamboj, and Mohammed Siraj will play his fifth straight Test.
The decision to give Bumrah a break is in spite of rumor that he would play one last Test to assist India in leveling the series. However, the team management has opted to take the safe route, given that the pitch in The Oval is likely to be flat and the small window of time between Tests.
