BCCI asks Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s parents to travel with him for T20I tours

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked the parents of young cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to travel with him during India’s upcoming T20I tours of Sri Lanka and England.
The decision came after the 15-year-old was selected in India’s T20I squad. It will be the first time that Vaibhav will be part of the senior Indian cricket team.
The decision comes as Vaibhav is still a minor and has been included in the senior squad. Board also says that the decision was taken keeping in mind the youngster’s comfort and for smooth adjustment in the team.
Information has come that Vaibhav’s father will be travelling along with him to Sri Lanka. The board will be providing support to his family if they want to join them along for the England tour.
The youngster is going to become the youngest international player to debut in the national team at just 15 years of age and break the record that Sachin Tendulkar was holding till date.
Vaibhav was selected in the team due to his outstanding performances in Under-19 cricket and the IPL tournament in 2026. He is said to be a consistent and potential batsman who can be a great aid for the T20 team.
Vaibhav has impressed everyone with his fearless batting and ability to perform under pressure in domestic cricket, Under-19 matches and the IPL.
