Bandh observed in Rairakhol, Borigumma, and Begunia over NAC demand

Jeypore / Begunia / Rairakhol: A demand for Notified Area Councils (NACs) gained momentum in Odisha as bandhs are being observed in different places. Today Bandh was observed in Rairakhol, Borigumma, and Begunia.
In Rairakhol, Sambalpur district, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) called for a 12-hour bandh, resulting in blocked markets and vehicular traffic. Protesters gathered at Bhima Bhoi Chhak and Medical Chhak, bringing normal activities to a halt.
Similarly, in Borigumma, Koraput district, a 12-hour bandh was observed from 6 am to 6 pm, called by the Joint Action Committee. National Highways 26 and 63 were blocked, affecting vehicular traffic. While emergency services and essential goods remained available, educational institutions and markets were shut.
In Begunia, Khurda district, the BJD called for a six-hour bandh, demanding NAC status. A significant police presence was deployed to maintain law and order. Except for emergency services, all other activities remained suspended during the bandh period.
