Ban on DJ vehicles ahead of Puja 2025

Bhubaneswar: The State Transport Authority (STA), Odishahas issued a circular over the unauthorised modifications in the basic structure of the DJ vehicles, ahead of the Puja season.

The STA in its circular mentioned that action will be taken if the specified lights and height is changed. The Registration Certificate (RC) and fitness certificates will be cancelled if the rules are not followed.

STA instructed all RTOs to look into the matter and be very vigilant about it. Action will be taken if the basic structure of the vehicle is changed and the rules are violated.

Restrictions have been imposed on sound and light systems after exceeding the prescribed limit. Registration certificates (RCs) and fitness will be cancelled along with fine as per the law.

Similarly, DJ systems, amplifiers, mixers, laser light controllers in vehicles are illegal. A warning has also been given against illegal use in public places. The sound and light of DJ vehicles are a danger to other road users.

For the safety of people, these unsafe DJ vehicles need to be stopped. It is requested not to use such illegal vehicles during the Parvan season. In addition, STA also sought the cooperation of the police department and STA instructed all RTOs to take action. Orders have been issued for legal action including seizure of the DJ’s vehicle.
