Balasore Man Electrocuted While Plucking Flowers, Illegal Power Line Suspected

Balasore: A man was electrocuted to death on Saturday morning while plucking flowers near his residence in Talakurunia village under Gopalpur police limits in Balasore district.

The deceased has been identified as Damodar Dash, a local resident. According to initial reports, Dash came into contact with a chain-link boundary wire that had become accidentally electrified. The wire was allegedly connected to an illegal power supply line drawn from a nearby electric pole by his neighbour, Biswanath Jena.

The electric shock proved fatal, and Dash died on the spot.

Gopalpur police reached the scene soon after receiving the information and have launched an investigation. Authorities are probing the unauthorised power connection and its possible role in the incident.
