Balasore Man Arrested for Uploading Wife’s Obscene Photos on Social Media

Balasore: Police have arrested a man from Jamshedpur for allegedly uploading obscene photos and videos of his wife on social media and threatening her with viral circulation of the content.

The accused has been identified as Bishwanath Giri of Taladhanada village in Odisha’s Balasore district.

According to reports, the woman got married to Bishwanath and later moved with him to Jamshedpur, where the couple was residing. During their stay, Bishwanath allegedly recorded intimate moments with his wife on his mobile phone without her knowledge.

The woman alleged that her husband later pressured her to maintain physical relations with other men. When she refused, he allegedly threatened to upload the intimate photos and videos on social media platforms.

Frequent disputes reportedly broke out between the couple over the issue, following which the woman returned to her native village in Balasore district.

After she left, the accused allegedly created fake Facebook accounts and circulated the intimate photos and videos online.

Following the incident, the woman lodged complaints with Baliapal Police and Balasore Cyber Police. Acting on the complaint, police launched an investigation and arrested the accused from Jamshedpur.

The woman has also alleged that Bishwanath and his associate, Vivek Ashank, were involved in illegal activities while running a hotel business in Jamshedpur.

Police said further investigation into the matter is underway.
