ASI in Vigilance Radar

Balasore: Odisha Vigilance has nabbed Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, Hrushikesh Biswal, Anantpur outpost under Soro police station of Balasore district while taking bribe of Rs 8,000.

Hrushikesh Biswal, ASI of Police, Anantapur Out Post(OP) under Soro PS, Dist. Balasore has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and taking bribe of Rs.8000/- from a Complainant in order to release his motor cycle.

The ASI had detained his motorcycle in connection with an accident on 07.09.2025. Since 07.09.25, the complainant had been requesting Biswal to release his motorcycle.

But he demanded bribe of Rs.10,000/- to release the motorcycle. When complainant expressed his inability to pay the demanded bribe, Biswal reduced the bribe amount to Rs.8,000/-.

Finding no other means, complainant reported the matter to Vigilance authorities. Based on this, a team of Odisha nabbed Biswal, ASI, today, while taking bribe Rs.8,000/- from the complainant.The entire tainted bribe money of Rs. 8,000/- has been recovered and seized from possession of Biswal, ASI.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Sri Biswal from DA angle.

In this connection, Balasaore Vigilance PS Case No 11/2025, U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Sri Biswal, ASI. Detailed report follows.
