Around 50 MLA seats likely to be added in Odisha after delimitation: CM Mohan Majhi

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has indicated that Odisha could see an increase of around 50 Assembly seats following the next delimitation exercise.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has a plan for future-ready Legislative Assembly building with expanded seating capacity of 300 MLAs.
It is to be noted here that the number of Assembly seats has remained unchanged since the 1971 Census, with the national freeze extended until post-2026.
However, after the next census and delimitation exercise, constituency boundaries and the MLA seat numbers in Odisha may be revised based on updated population data.
