Annual HSC examination 2019 from February 22

Cuttack, Dec 15: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha on Friday declared the details of time table for conduct of annual High School Certificate (HSC) Examination-2019 from February 22 to March 8.

The BSE has decided to conduct State Open School Certificate (SOSC) Examination-2019 and Madhyama (Sanskrit) Examination-2019 and Class 9 Vocational examinations simultaneously with the annual HSC Examination.

As per the scheduled programme and time table, while examination for First Language Odia, Bangala, Hindi, Urdu, Telgu and Alternative English will be conducted on February 22 Friday, examination for second language English, Hindi and Environment and Population Education(only for hearing impaired candidates) will be conducted on February 25 Monday.

While examination for third Language Hindi, Odia and Parsi will be conducted on February 27 Wednesday, the examination for third language Sanskrit will be conducted on February 28 Thursday.

The Examination of Visual Art Theory for hearing impaired candidates will be conducted on the same sitting with 1 hour duration from 9AM to 10 AM.

Third Language Visual Art Practical examination has been scheduled to be conducted on March 3 Sunday from 9 AM to 11AM.

While Mathematics examination will be conducted on March 2 Saturday, examinations on General Science and Social Science subject will be held on March 6 Wednesday and March 8 Friday respectively.

There will be same question pattern for Regular and Ex-regular students and the examination will be conducted simultaneously on the same sitting from 9AM to 11.30 AM. However, 15 minutes extra time will be allowed in Mathematics examination scheduled to be conducted from 9AM to 11.45 AM.

The BSE has also prepared a separate time table for conduct of Madhyama and State Open School Certificate Examination in the second sitting from 1.30 PM to 4PM.

Speaking about the question pattern, the BSE president Jahan Ara Begum said the Board for the first time this year will provide four parallel sets of objective question papers to the students marked as A, B, C and D.

She said the students will answer whichever objective question set given to them. They will write the answer in the OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) sheet.

“ Though there will be four sets of subjective question papers, these questions will not be parallel,” she informed adding that the students would have to secure minimum 15 marks each in subjective and objective format.
