Ambulance Drivers Arrested for Gang-Rape in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident that has shaken the capital city, two ambulance drivers have been arrested for allegedly gang-raping a woman who had sought a lift to the railway station.
According to reports, the victim, a resident of West Bengal, had come to Bhubaneswar to drop a relative at AIIMS for medical treatment. After completing her visit, she was waiting for an auto-rickshaw to reach the station when the accused approached her, offering a lift and assuring to drop her safely.

However, instead of taking her to the station, the accused allegedly drove her to a secluded forest area under the jurisdiction of Tamando police station, where they sexually assaulted her.
Following the victim’s complaint, Tamando police initiated a swift investigation and arrested the two accused, identified as Bichitra Sahu and Narayan Swain, both residents of Nayagarh and employees of a private ambulance service.
Bhubaneswar DCP confirmed the arrests and stated that further investigation into the case is underway.
