Adulterated engine oil manufacturing unit busted in Cuttack

Cuttack: An adulterated engine oil manufacturing unit was busted in Sunaribana area under Jagatpur police station limits of Cuttack city on Wednesday morning.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police officers led by Zone-1 Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Arun Kumar Swain and Jagatpur police station Inspector-In-Charge (IIC) Anirudh Nayak along with the officials of the Weights and Measures Department conducted a surprise raid and busted the adulterated engine oil manufacturing unit in Sunaribana area.

During the raid, the police team found out that since long period of time the unit has been manufacturing the adulterated engine oil, shock absorber oil and grease by using burnt lubricant oil and sell them in the name of several branded companies.

A huge quantity of the raw materials used to prepare the duplicate engine oil and plastic bottles for packing the fuel were seized during the raid by the police team.

Cops also detained two persons whom they identified as the owner of the adulterated engine oil manufacturing unit and a wholesaler.

Further probe into the illegal activity is underway.
