Administration of Precaution Dose Begins

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): Administration of precaution dose of COVID-19 vaccine to persons above 60 years of age having comorbidities, healthcare workers and frontline workers began across vaccination centres in Odisha, today.

Those belonging to the above mentioned categories and have received second dose of COVID-19 vaccine at least nine months ago are eligible for the precaution dose.

As per Health Department sources, messages will be sent to the phone numbers of the eligible persons once the gap of nine months is reached. Those eligible to receive precaution dose of the vaccine can book online appointment on CoWIN portal. The Health ministry has said that there would not be any need for new registration of such beneficiaries.
