Abhishek Bachchan breaks silence on divorce rumours with Aishwarya Rai

Divorce rumours between Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai have been making headlines for over a year now. The couple has remained silent till now but Abhishek Bachchan recently opened up about how trolling and writing hateful comments has become a trend.

The Bollywood couple tied the knot in 2007. Before marriage, they had done films together such as Kuch Naa Kaho, Dhai Akshar prem ke, Dhoom2, Guru. They are also parents of 13-year-old daughter Aaradhya Bachchan.

In an interview with ETimes, Abhishek Bachchan spoke about why he chose to keep quiet while misinformation about him divorcing Aishwarya Rai was making headlines in the industry. The actor said that the headlines didn’t affect him earlier, but it does now. Because these negative headlines are affecting peace and happiness of his family. He said, “It’s very upsetting. You’re not me, you don’t live my life.”

The actor further said that even if he clarified, the news would be twisted and it would’ve been made negative as in today’s world negative news sells much faster and in easier way. He further added, “It’s so convenient to sit anonymously behind a computer screen and write the nastiest things. You do realise you’re hurting somebody. No matter how thick-skinned they are, it affects them. How would you like it if somebody did that to you?”

On the professional front, Abhishek Bachchan is preparing for the OTT release of Kaalidhar Laapata with Mohammed Zeeshan Ayub and Daivik Bhagela. The film will premiere on ZEE5 on July 4.
