Rainfall to increase from 12th August

Bhubaneswar: Rainfall will increase in Odisha from the 12th August. Heavy rainfall is likely to occur in the state under the influence of a low-pressure area, predicted the MeT department.

Light to moderate rainfall has been recorded in many places in the state in the last 24 hours. The highest rainfall of 90 mm was recorded in Aska, Ganjam district.

A cyclonic storm has formed in the sea, due to which the sea is likely to remain rough in Bangladesh, West Bengal and adjoining areas. The Meteorological Center has advised fishermen not to venture into the sea.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur in Puri district in the next 24 hours, while heavy rainfall is likely to occur in Khordha, Jagsinghpur, Cuttack, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh and Keonjhar districts.

Along with this, thunderstorms are likely to occur with a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour.

Similarly, heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and wind speed of 30 to 40 km per hour are likely to occur in Ganjam and Gajapati districts tomorrow as well.
