Hirakud Water Level Drops, Four Gates Closed

Bhubaneswar: Amid a decrease in water level at the Hirakud reservoir, authorities have closed four gates, while 14 gates remain open to discharge excess floodwater, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
Currently, nine gates on the left side and five sluice gates on the right side are in operation. The reservoir’s water level stands at 612.52 feet.
As per official data, the reservoir is receiving an inflow of 1,78,981 cusecs, while the outflow is 3,11,383 cusecs, helping manage the flood situation downstream.
