Odisha Approves 178 MW Renewable Energy Projects Worth ₹869.8 Crore

Bhubaneswar: In a major boost to its clean energy mission, the Odisha government has approved renewable energy projects with a combined capacity of 178 MW, involving investments worth ₹869.8 crore.
The approvals were granted during the 12th meeting of the Single Window Committee (SWC), chaired by Energy Department Principal Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev. The meeting was attended by top officials, including the Managing Director and Directors of GRIDCO and OHPC, along with senior members of the committee. Project proposals were presented by the Chief Project Manager of the Renewable Energy Nodal Agency (RENA) and underwent detailed examination before being cleared.

Among the approved projects, Prozeal Green Energy Limited will set up a 69.5 MW solar park at Biramaharajpur in Subarnapur district. INOX Solar Limited received approval for a 49.5 MW solar project at Telkoi in Keonjhar, while Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) secured clearance for a 10 MW solar plant at Lakhanpur in Jharsuguda. Additionally, NLC India Renewables Limited has been granted approval for a wind power project at Papadahandi in Nabarangpur district.
These projects include 128.5 MW of solar capacity and 49.5 MW of wind energy, further strengthening Odisha’s renewable energy infrastructure.
With this round of approvals, the total renewable energy capacity sanctioned by the Single Window Committee has reached 1,844.86 MW, backed by cumulative investments of ₹12,599.79 crore. This marks a key milestone in Odisha’s transition to green energy and highlights the state’s commitment to promoting ease of doing business in the renewable sector.
