According to an official release from East Coast Railway, Verma conducted detailed inspections of the Khurda Road–Puri section and travelled aboard the Bhubaneswar–New Delhi Tejas Rajdhani Express to assess real-time safety protocols and passenger experience.

A high-level safety review meeting was also held at the ECoR headquarters in Bhubaneswar. The meeting was chaired by General Manager Parmeshwar Funkwal and attended by senior railway officials. Discussions centered around current safety strategies, infrastructural challenges, and improvements in risk mitigation procedures.

During his visit, Verma also interacted with officers of the Khurda Road Division, including Divisional Railway Manager H. S. Bajwa. The deliberations focused on key divisional safety indicators, staff training initiatives, and welfare measures for frontline workers.

At Bhadrak, the Director General inspected the Accident Relief Train, reviewed crew amenities, and examined the station premises. He also evaluated the condition and functionality of level crossing gates, conducting joint assessments with inter-departmental teams to gauge preparedness under varied operational scenarios.

The inspection aimed to ensure the highest safety standards across the zone and identify areas for improvement in both passenger and freight operations.
