Scindia to open Sukanya accounts of newborn girls in Guna

GUNA (MP): (Jun 28) Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Saturday opened the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY) accounts of more than 880 girls from his Guna Lok Sabha constituency in Madhya Pradesh by depositing double the amount required for the process from his personal account.

On the occasion, he also announced that he will similarly pay the minimum initial deposit amount required for the scheme for the girls born between May 1, 2025 to May 1, 2026.

An SSY account can be opened with a minimum initial deposit of just Rs 250.
