Addl Tahsildar, Kaptipada Manhandled

Kaptipada: On that day, Additional Tahsildar, Kaptipada, was attacked by a group of people led by Alok Rout and others. The victim belongs to the SC category and was humiliated publicly with derogatory remarks made about his caste.

Investigation Progress:

– A case has been registered under various sections of BNS and SC & ST PoA Act.
– SDPO, Udala, is leading the investigation.
– Evidence collection has been done including spot mapping, videography recorded in e-Sakshya and seizure of damaged vehicles and other evidence.

Arrests:

– Eight (8no.)number of accused persons have been arrested so far:
1. Akash @ Nilakantha Nayak
2. Ranjit Kumar Mohanty
3. Manoj Kumar Puhan
4. Hemanta Behera
5. Tata @ Banamali Mohanty
6. Sameer Rout
7. Aju @ Ananta Das
8. Deepak Padhi
Aju@Ananta Das and Deepak Padhi have been arrested today from Jamshedpur.
Further Action:

– Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining absconding accused persons.
– Mobile numbers of involved accused persons have been sent to the Cyber Cell to determine their locations.

The situation is being closely monitored, by DIG,ER,Balasore, and SP,Mayurbhanj under guidance of DGP Odisha,all necessary steps are being taken to ensure justice is served. We are committed to bringing all the perpetrators to justice.
