New ration cards to be distributed on April 24

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government will distribute new NFSA (National Food Security Act) and SFSS (State Food Security Scheme) ration cards to the eligible beneficiaries on the occasion of Panchayatiraj (PR) Diwas on April 24, informed Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra.

While speaking to the media persons today, Patra said, “A total of 5.90 lakh ration cards been prepared after survey. It will be distributed in phases. The distribution of new ration cards will begin on April 24. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will distribute it to the beneficiaries during a programme in Puri on April 24. Gradually, it will be distributed to the eligible beneficiaries at the block level.”
