Odisha Students Walk 10 KM for Teacher, Food

Baripada: In a brave protest against the lack of resources at their school, a group of class 10 students walked over 10 kilometers early this morning to demand the appointment of an English teacher and better food in their hostel at Kamali Ashram School in Khunta, Mayurbhanj district.

The students, preparing for the Odisha 10th Board Exam 2025, set out at 4 AM to reach the office of the Tahasildar. They highlighted the ongoing issue of not having an English teacher, which has severely affected their studies. Despite repeated requests, no teacher has been appointed, leaving them struggling to prepare for the upcoming exams.

In addition to their academic concerns, the students also complained about the poor quality of food served at the hostel. Their desperate action has drawn attention to the institutional shortcomings, with locals urging authorities to address the issues promptly.
