T20 World Champions Meet PM Modi

New Delhi: Rohit Sharma led the Indian cricket team, which returned from Barbados earlier Thursday morning after winning the ICC T20 World Cup, met PM Narendra Modi at his residence.

During the interaction with the Indian team Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s thoughtful actions caught everyone’s attention. The World Champions team India posed with the coveted T20 World Cup trophy.

Interestingly, PM Modi chose not to hold the trophy himself but instead held the hands of India’s World Cup-winning captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid. This gesture symbolized PM Modi’s respect for the Indian team and their accomplishments.

PM Modi encouraged the team to strive for more titles, expressing confidence that their recent T20 World Cup victory in Barbados would motivate them to perform well in future tournaments.

A video shared by the Indian cricket team showed Prime Minister Narendra Modi sharing laughs and stories with the players during their time together. Head coach Rahul Dravid also addressed the players as they sat alongside the Prime Minister. PM Modi appeared to enjoy the anecdotes from the players, smiling throughout the video. Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya also spoke during the meeting.

Virat Kohli and Yuzvndra Chahal also shared photographs from their meeting with PM Modi on their social media accounts. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and Board President Roger Binny were also present for the photograph.

The Indian team had a small cake-cutting ceremony at the ITC Maurya in Delhi before visiting the PM’s residence. The team wore custom-made jerseys with ‘India Champions’ printed on them. Upon their arrival at the Delhi airport on the early morning of July 4, the Men in Blue received a warm welcome from enthusiastic fans. The stadium was filled with supporters eager to give the champion team a heroes’ welcome.
