Special Traffic Instruction to Tighten Noose on Traffic Norm Violators on New Year

Bhubaneswar: Tightening its noose on traffic norm violators ahead New Year eve, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Bhubaneswar Prateek Singh on Saturday advised people to obey traffic norms.
He said, “As people are in a celebration mood, many tend to forget traffic rules in the excitement. It may be dangerous to them and other people on the road. As New Year is to be celebrated after a gap of two years without any Covid-induced restrictions, so I requested all to avoid overspeeding during driving any vehicle, obey the traffic limit of 50 km/hr within the city, don’t drive under the influence of alcohol, and instead take a driver while going to a party.
Police checking will be carried out tightly at several places for the New Year. Strict action will be taken against traffic violators.
DCP Prateek Singh’s appeal to people:
- Obey traffic norms
- Don’t drink and drive
- Don’t drive over 50 kmph
- Take driver along with you if going to party
- Don’t park vehicles in no parking zone
- Strict action against violators
The towing team will be keeping a watch at all places and any vehicle parked on road or in no parking area will be towed immediately. Besides, people seeing any suspicious person or facing any emergency situation can dial 112 for immediate help from the police
