Dharmendra Inaugurates IIT-Bhubaneswar Kendriya Vidyala

Bhubaneswar: The IIT Bhubaneswar Kendriya Vidyalaya, located at the foothills of the Barunei hills in Khordha district, will become an educational laboratory in the coming days to prepare students for world-class leadership, Union Minister for Education, Skills Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan said on Saturday. He said that from the current academic year 2022-23, classes will be open to the public in the first classrooms with enrolment of students from first to fifth grade.
“The school will play a key role in helping local students achieve their dreams of a brighter future by providing quality education,” Pradhan added while inaugurating the Kendriya Vidyalaya and the permanent campus of Kendriya Vidyalaya at IIT Bhubaneswar. The Union Minister said in the next phase, the 10-acre plot of land provided by IIT Bhubaneswar will be given to Kendriya Vidyalaya after the construction of permanent classrooms.
He said Rs 25 crore will be spent on the construction of this permanent Central School and an additional Rs 7 crore will be spent for the management of the school annually. All the expenses will be borne by IIT Bhubaneswar, an educational institution of the Union Government, he said. Pradhan said IIT Bhubaneswar is a prestigious institution in the field of higher education.
Speaking about the National Education Policy, the Minister said a new system has been introduced for teachers. “A pilot model of the 7-year-old Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITP) will be launched this year to provide appropriate training to teachers. This will increase the efficiency of the teachers and the full development of the students. In addition, about 15,000 PM Shri schools are planned to be set up in every block across India, including Odisha, to prepare students for the future.
