COVID Fear: Srimandir to be Closed Once in a Week

Puri (Reporters Today Bureau): Keeping in view the recent hike in COVID-19 cases in Odisha, The Jagannath temple in Puri will be closed for one day a week. The Chhatisa Nijog meeting which was held on Tuesday had proposed to restrict the entry of devotees inside Srimandir for one day every week.

However, the final decision for the closure of the temple for a day shall be taken by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) within one or two days but permission is granted for holding of rituals of Dolapurnima Suna Besha on March 28 under strict Covid guidelines

The temple authorities have requested the devotees to follow the protocols issued by the government for the covid-19 during darshan and rituals in the temple.
