Pooran, Pollard Set India 316 for Series Win

Cuttack: Riding on a record fifth wicket partnership of 135 runs between Kieron Pollard and Nicholas Pooran, West Indies posted 315 for 5 against India in the series decider in Barabati Stadium, Cuttack.

Put into bat after losing the toss, West Indies got off to a decent start with Evin Lewis (21) and Shai Hope (42) adding 57 runs for the opening wicket. But then the openers lost wickets in quick succession as bowlers helped India bounce back.

Pollard and Pooran played watchfully in the middle overs to steady the Windies innings. With boundaries at regular intervals the duo also kept the scoring rate close to 5. In the process, Pooran got to his fifth ODI fifty.

After the departure of Pooran, Pollard smacked the India bowlers all around the park and also raised his 10th fifty. In the final two overs Pollard and Jason Holder collected 32 runs, helping Windies post a challenging total.
