Pak train Tezgam caugh fire, death toll rises to 70

(Reporterstoday) Bhubaneswar): At least 70 people were killed and more than 20 got injured in a train tragedy in Pakistan. The tragedy happened in a train running from Karachi to Rawalpini in Pakistan’s east Punjab province. When a gas cylinder of a passenger exploded in the passenger train, Tezgam, fire immediately in 3 coaches near Liaquatpur, a official informed.

As per the sources, 10 of the bodies have been identified, whereas, others identity  yet to be ascertained. Confirming the death toll, Baqir Hussain, head of the district rescue service said that rest will be identified through DNA.

Sheikh Rasheed, Pakistan Railways Minister said, Two cooking stoves blew up by the cooking oil which added fuel to fire. He said, most deaths occurred when people jumped off the train.

On this tragedy, PM Imran Khan expressed his condolences and directed the authorities to ensure best medical treatment for injured.
