BJP seeks Jagannath Temple Ratna Bhandar Audit

(Reporters Today, Bhubaneswar): BJP in Odisha on Tuesday urged the State Government to take steps for conducting an audit of the Ratna Bhandar (treasury) of the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri.

In a letter to chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik, BJP leader and leader of the opposition party, Pradipta Nayak has requested to open the Ratna bhandar (treasury) of Srimandir and match the ornaments with the inventory prepared in 1978. He further urged Patnaik to take necessary action in the case of discrepancy.

Naik termed the appointment of a Judicial Commission by the State Government to probe the missing of the keys as ‘worthless’. After submission of the commission’s final report, the State Government didn’t take any step to open the Ratna Bhandar, he alleged.
