Onsite disaster Mock drill conducted at Paradip Refinery

Surjit Kumar Dhal, Paradip, June 26: Paradip Refinery conducted an Onsite disaster mock drill on Tuesday as a part of Annual Safety programmes to ensure the system adequacy & emergency preparedness measures as per the approved ERDM plan.

The Mock drill was conducted at the new Poly Propylene Unit (PPU) project.

The drill started at 02.45 PM. and All-Clear Siren was given at 03.30 PM.

All control measures were activated for effective mitigation of the emergency at site by F&S & CISF (Fire Wing) personnel. Under Mutual Aid Scheme, firefighting team with fire tenders from neighbouring industries i.e. from Paradip Port Trust, IFFCO, PPL & Odisha State Fire & Emergency Service, Kujang had responded to take part in the exercise.

Official from Regional office of OSPCB, Paradip has also witnessed the mock drill. Response & control measures taken as per the protocols of Emergency Response & Disaster Management Plan were well coordinated and it was appreciated by all the authorities.

Executive Director, Paradip Refinery TDVS Gopalakrishna, chaired the de-briefing session of the exercise.
