Dharmendra assures early repair of Jagannath Temple damages

Surjit Kumar Dhal,Puri, May 20: Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Sunday assured early repair of all damages caused inside the Jagannath Temple due to extremely severely cyclone Fani on May 3.

He said the Archaeological Survey of India experts have taken up the work on war footing and the Director General of the ASI has also visited the temple premises to assess the damages, including the uprooting of the ‘Kalpabata’.

Pradhan said the cyclone caused extensive damage to Puri town and several area of the district.

The relief and rehabilitation work is also on full steam, he said while hoping that normal situation will return soon.

“The town will soon regain its glory with the blessings of Lord Jagannath,” Pradhan said.
