Two more held in connection with politician’s murder

Surjit Kumar Dhal,Keonjhar, March 29: Police here have arrested two more persons have been arrested on Thursday in connection with the brutal murder of former Ghasipura legislator candidate of Keonjhar district Ramachandra Behera.
The accused have been identified as Pramod Das and Arun Prusty of Dhakote village.
Acting on a tip-off the police caught the two from a nearby forest.
Earlier, four accused Sanjib Prusty, Ajit Prusty, Pramod Das and Dolagobinda Boitai were taken into custody and forwarded to court.
Ramachandra Behera, who was slated to join BJD was violently hacked by unidentified miscreants allegedly over political rivalry on the night of Mar 25.
BJP MLA candidate from the constituency Prithviraj Kuanr had alleged involvement of family members of Minister Badri Narayan Patra in the case.
Meanwhile, the BJP has demanded CBI inquiry into the gruesome murder.
A delegation, led by BJP state vice president Samir Mohanty, met State Director General of Police Dr RP Sharma today, and alleged that BJD Minister Badri Patra’s son Debapriya Patra and some other BJD workers were involved in the murder of Behera.
The delegation claimed that Zilla Parishad member Nibedita Prusty’s husband Ranjit Prusty, and local Biju Yava Bahini head Sanjiv Prusty and their associates have murdered Behera.
The BJP Leaders, in their memorandum to the Police DG, urged to hand over the investigation of the murder case to CBI and check the mobile call details of the accused persons.
They further demanded that Minister Badri Narayan Patra, his son Debapriya patra and their associates and Chief Minister’s Private Secretary VK Pandian should be brought under the purview of the investigation.
The delegation also urged the Police DG to take all precautionary measures for proper management of the electioneering process and check poll violence in sensitive polling booths.
