BJD snubs BJP for baseless allegations on Kalia scheme

Surjit Kumar Dhal,Bhubaneswar, March 28: The ruling BJD on Wednesday said that the allegation of opposition BJP to the Chief Electoral Officer that the State Government did not furnish the list of KALIA beneficiaries was ‘baseless, frivolous and concocted’.

It said in a statement that the saffron party is trying to hide its face and cover up for its wrong after its conspiracy was exposed.

“The people of Odisha and especially the farmers of Odisha have seen how the BJP on 13th March, 2019 sent a delegation to the Chief Electoral Officer to pressurize and stop the Kalia Yojana,” it said.

It said due to BJP’s pressure, the KALIA Yojana has been stopped.

“Now to save itself from the ire of the 20 lakh farmers who would be deprived of the Kalia assistance , the BJP is weaving another web of lies in which it is caught,” it said.

“The people of Odisha and especially the farmers of Odisha will give a befitting reply to the BJP for hatching the conspiracy to stop the KALIA assistance to lakhs farmers in the state,” party spokesperson Dr Sasmit Patra said.
