PM Modi To Inaugurate Global Fintech Fest, Launch Major Projects During Gujarat-Maharashtra Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat and Maharashtra on Tuesday to inaugurate the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai and dedicate several major development projects to the nation in Gujarat.

PM Modi will first visit Vadodara, where he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for various development projects and address a gathering.

He will dedicate three sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), spanning 326 route kilometres and developed at a cost of over Rs 20,700 crore. The sections include Sanand (North)-Makarpura, New Umbergaon-New Saphale and New Saphale-JNPT. Their commissioning will improve freight connectivity, reduce logistics costs and help decongest Mumbai’s railway network.

The prime minister will also flag off freight train services from four locations and a new train service between Vadodara and Tanda Road, benefiting passengers in Vadodara, Chhota Udepur and Alirajpur districts.

He will lay the foundation stone for three railway projects spanning 329 km and costing over Rs 9,700 crore, besides three national highway projects worth around Rs 1,780 crore. Various Gujarat government projects worth around Rs 2,600 crore will also be inaugurated or launched.

In Mumbai, PM Modi will inaugurate the seventh edition of the Global Fintech Fest, being held from September 8 to 11.

Themed “Potential to Impact: Agentic AI, Tokenisation, Quantum – Trusted, Connected, Global Systems for Inclusive Finance,” the event will bring together policymakers, regulators, financial institutions, fintech companies, investors and technology leaders to discuss the future of finance.

Discussions will focus on Agentic AI, programmable finance, quantum technologies and other emerging technologies, with emphasis on building trusted, inclusive and globally connected financial systems
