Suspected tiger movement triggers panic in Odisha’s Koraput

Kotpad: Tiger fear in Odisha’s Koraput after a suspicion arose about tiger movement along the Odisha-Andhra border following discovery of a few paw-like marks.

Moreover, many video clips that are said to be proof of the animal’s activity are being circulated through social media, causing more tension among the residents.

Locals believe that the animal has been moving around the extensive forest and bank of rivers in Katriguda, Nuaguda and Bakatiguda villages that border Kundura border road.

Sources confirmed that two days earlier suspected tiger pug-marks were discovered in an agricultural land adjoining Atigaon forest of Kundura area by the forest department employees.

But the forest rangers refused to confirm whether the paw like marks are that of a tiger or a wild animal as it is difficult to distinguish a pug-mark of a tiger form that of another animal.

There has been no confirmation on this matter by the officials yet, however, locals fear the movement of big cat.

Authorities are monitoring the situation closely.
