Five held as police seize over 800 bottles of illegal cough syrup in Balangir

Balangir: The Balangir Town Police cracked down on an illegal cough syrup trafficking racket and arrested five people.

According to reports, police stopped the suspected car near smart park in Balangir-titlagarh road. Five occupants in the car attempted to escape upon seeing the police but the Police chased them down and successfully arrested them.

Police later seized the car and found more than 800 bottles of cough syrup, presumed to be for distribution for sale and illicit use.

This is being considered as a huge success by Balangir town police as they crack down on illegal drugs within the district.

Police is currently working to find the origins of the shipment, to establish if it was a larger delivery, and to identify any others that might have been involved.
