Odisha DGP Warns Criminals of Encounters

Odisha Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania issued a stern warning to criminals, declaring that there is no place for them in the state.

He said those planning crimes should be prepared for encounters similar to recent ones in Berhampur and Sambalpur.

Khurania announced that Odisha Police have launched a massive statewide operation against anti‑social elements. In the last five days, officers conducted more than 1,700 Non‑Bailable Warrant drives across districts. Six individuals have been booked under the National Security Act, and more than 50 criminals have been arrested.

The DGP emphasised that jail returnees are under strict surveillance based on intelligence inputs. He added that Superintendents of Police in every district are personally working at the ground level to strengthen law and order.
