Heatwave: Schools in Malkangiri to Remain Closed for Students from April 22 to 25

Malkangiri: Amid rising temperatures and ongoing heatwave conditions, the District Education Office in Malkangiri has announced the closure of all schools for students from April 22 to April 25.
According to an official order issued on April 21, the decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to safeguard students’ health and well-being. The directive covers all government, government-aided, and private schools in the district, from pre-primary to Class XII.

However, the closure applies only to students. Teaching and non-teaching staff have been directed to attend schools as usual between 6:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., in line with existing guidelines.
The order further stated that supplementary examinations for Class V and Class VIII will be conducted as per the schedule issued by the Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA), Bhubaneswar. Schools have been instructed to ensure necessary arrangements such as drinking water, ORS, and first-aid facilities for students appearing in the exams.
Administrative functions, including admissions, census duties, and other essential academic work, will continue during the closure period.
Meanwhile, examinations conducted by boards such as the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) will proceed as per their scheduled timelines without any changes.
