Illegal Cattle Transport Foiled by Bajrang Dal in Jharsuguda

Bajrang Dal activists intercepted a truck carrying 40 cattle near H Kantapali on the National Highway in Jharsuguda district, where five cows died during the incident.

According to Bajrang Dal district president Ravi Gidwani, the truck bearing registration number OD-16-G-5192 was illegally transporting cattle from Chhattisgarh to Jharsuguda. Members of the group attempted to stop the vehicle at the Gobindpur tollgate and Gandhi Chhak in Brajrajnagar, but the driver sped away.

The truck crossed the Ib river bridge before stopping near H Kantapali, where the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled. Hundreds of Bajrang Dal workers gathered at the spot and rescued the cattle. Jharsuguda Sadar police, led by IIC Swapnarani Gochhayat, reached the site and assisted in moving the animals to a Gosheba centre.

Officials confirmed that five cows died due to the reckless driving of the truck.
