Jajpur Police Recover 92 Stolen, Lost Mobile Phones Under ‘Operation Reconnect’

Jajpur: Jajpur Police successfully concluded a special initiative titled “Operation Reconnect,” recovering 92 stolen and lost mobile phones during a week-long drive conducted from March 22 to March 29.
The operation focused on tracing missing devices using data from the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal. Through coordinated efforts, use of technology, and swift action, police teams were able to track and recover the devices and identify their rightful owners.

In a citizen-centric gesture, IG Central Range Dr Satyajit Naik handed over the recovered mobile phones to their owners on March 31 in the presence of the Jajpur Superintendent of Police. The initiative aimed not only at returning valuable belongings but also at strengthening trust between the police and the public.
Speaking on the occasion, the IG said that “Operation Reconnect” reflects the vision of building a people-friendly police force that is approachable, responsive, and committed to safeguarding public interests.

Jajpur Police stated that by combining technology-driven solutions with active community engagement, the department continues to enhance its service delivery and reinforce public confidence.
The initiative stands as a testament to the police department’s commitment to ensuring safety, transparency, and stronger community relations.
