Bhubaneswar–Singapore Flights Suspended Amid Middle East Tensions

Bhubaneswar: International flight services from Bhubaneswar to Singapore have been suspended due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) Director Prasanna Pradhan said on Monday.

The decision follows earlier disruptions in flight operations to Dubai, which were also impacted by the prevailing geopolitical situation in the region. With these suspensions, only one international flight service from Bhubaneswar, connecting to Bangkok, is currently operational.

Meanwhile, the airport authorities have announced the summer schedule for this year, under which several domestic routes have been temporarily suspended. Flight services to Indore, Dehradun, and Kochi have been discontinued, primarily due to seasonal demand fluctuations.

Addressing concerns, Pradhan clarified that there is no shortage of aviation fuel and emphasized that the suspension of these routes is purely based on operational and seasonal factors. He further stated that the affected services have been paused for the off-season and are not linked to any technical or fuel-related issues.
