Two Tourists Drown at Puri Beach, Safety Concerns Rise

Puri: In a tragic incident, two tourists drowned while bathing at Sector 14 beach near the Lighthouse in Puri on Monday morning.

According to reports, the tourists had entered the sea during the early hours when strong currents swept them away. Alert lifeguards quickly rushed to the spot and managed to retrieve the victims from the water.

The rescued individuals were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival. The identities of the deceased tourists have not yet been established.

This incident marks the third case of drowning in Puri in recent days, sparking fresh concerns over safety arrangements and precautionary measures at the popular seaside destination.
