Yellow Nowcast Warning Issued for Thunderstorms Across Odisha Districts

Bhubaneswar: The Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has issued a yellow nowcast warning for several districts in Odisha, predicting light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 kmph over the next three hours.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD)’s nowcast issued at 1 PM, the districts likely to be affected include Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangapur, Malkangiri, and Nuapada.

Residents in these areas have been advised to remain alert, closely monitor weather conditions, and take necessary precautions. Authorities have urged people to move to safer locations during thunderstorms to protect themselves from potential lightning strikes and strong winds.
