3 Young IAS Officers Transferred in Odisha

In a minor administrative reshuffle, the Odisha government on Wednesday reassigned three young IAS officers to new responsibilities. The General Administration Department issued a formal notification announcing the changes.

According to the order, 2022-batch IAS officer Akshay Pille, who was serving as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Bonai in Sundargarh district, has been transferred as Chief Development Officer (CDO) and Executive Officer of Jagatsinghpur Zilla Parishad. The government has also cancelled his earlier transfer (issued on March 12) as Additional District Magistrate of Paradip.

In a similar move, another 2022-batch IAS officer, Arugula Sneha, currently Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Padmapur, has been posted as Chief Development Officer and Executive Officer of Puri Zilla Parishad. She will additionally hold the charge of Commissioner, Puri Municipal Corporation. Her previous transfer as CDO of Mayurbhanj Zilla Parishad has been cancelled.

Meanwhile, 2023-batch IAS officer Kasturi Panda, who was serving as SDM of Karanjia, has been shifted as Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Baripada. The state government has also directed her to function as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Baripada) in Mayurbhanj district under Section 14(4) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.

The transfers are seen as routine cadre adjustments aimed at strengthening district-level administration. All three officers are from the recently recruited batches and were earlier holding sub-divisional charges.
