Bauxite-Laden Tanker Crashes Into Houses in Rayagada, Major Mishap Averted

Bhubaneswar: A major accident was narrowly avoided on Sunday morning after a bauxite-laden tanker lost control and crashed into three roadside houses near the Muniguda Kanak Devarami Temple in Odisha’s Rayagada district.
According to reports, the tanker was transporting bauxite from Visakhapatnam to Jharsuguda when it suddenly went out of control, allegedly due to poor road conditions or a possible mechanical issue. Three families residing in the affected houses sustained minor injuries. No serious casualties were reported, with locals calling it a close escape from a potentially fatal incident.
Residents immediately rushed to the spot after hearing the crash, as the tanker came to a halt amid debris. Muniguda police were informed and promptly reached the scene to manage the situation and ensure safety in the area.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Factors such as over-speeding, mechanical failure, and driver error are being examined. Officials are also assessing the extent of the damage and monitoring the condition of the injured.
