Odisha Assembly Session on March 16 Cancelled Due to Rajya Sabha Polls

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly session scheduled for March 16 has been cancelled in view of the Rajya Sabha elections, which will be held on the same day.

Voting for the elections will take place from 9 am to 4 pm on March 16. The decision to cancel the Assembly sitting was taken during the Business Advisory Committee meeting held on Friday.

According to the decision, answers to the questions that were listed for discussion on March 16 will now be tabled in the House on March 17.

Meanwhile, the demand grants related to the School and Mass Education and Higher Education departments, part of the 2026–27 state budget approved by the House on February 24, will be taken up for discussion and voting on March 20.

The Assembly proceedings will now resume on March 17 at 10:30 am.
