Mother Who Threw Two Infant Daughters Into Well Found Dead in Sambalpur

Bhubaneswar: The body of a woman who allegedly killed her two infant daughters by throwing them into a well in Sambalpur district was recovered near a drain on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Sanju Madki of Sargidihi village under Jarabaga Panchayat in Bamra block. According to reports, Sanju had been suffering from mental health issues.

On Friday afternoon, Sanju left her house with her two daughters. After some time, she returned home alone, which raised suspicion. When her husband, James Madki, asked about the children, Sanju reportedly confessed that she had thrown both girls into a nearby well.

Shocked by the revelation, James rushed to the well and, with the help of villagers, retrieved the two children. The girls were immediately taken to Gobindpur Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.

Meanwhile, Sanju had been missing since the incident on Friday. Her body was found hanging near a drain on Saturday.

Police have begun an investigation into the incident.
