Bomb Threat Email Triggers Security Alert at Puri and Keonjhar Courts

Puri/Keonjhar: A security alert was issued at the District and Sessions Courts in Puri and Keonjhar on Monday after authorities received a bomb threat through email, prompting immediate deployment of police and bomb disposal squads at both court premises.
According to reports, the threatening email claimed that 14 cyanide-filled improvised explosive devices (IEDs) had been planted inside the court complexes. The sender warned that the explosives would be detonated by the afternoon, triggering panic among court staff, lawyers and visitors.

Following the alert, police personnel and anti-bomb squads rushed to the locations and launched intensive searches across the court premises. Authorities also tightened security in and around the complexes and took precautionary measures to ensure the safety of people present in the area.
The email reportedly contained several allegations involving political figures and organisations. It further claimed that Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI and the DMK party had planned attacks on courts in Tamil Nadu and other states to divert attention from the alleged custodial death of Ajith Kumar by Tamil Nadu police.
Officials said similar bomb threat emails had been received by courts earlier this month. Police have launched an investigation to trace the origin of the latest email and verify its authenticity while maintaining heightened security at the court complexes.
